ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has been postponed for want of quorum.
Government has to incur expenses over Rs 5 million on convening one meeting of PAC.
PAC meeting took place under Sardar Ashiq Gopang being Khursid Shah pre-occupation in Lahore., However the meeting was postponed due to lack of quorum without any proceeding.
Corruption matters worth billion of rupees of ministry of maritime and Karachi Port Trust were to be discussed in the meeting. Senior officials of Maritime ministry had come from Karachi to attend the meeting.
Sardar Ashiq Gopang after one hour announced to postpone the meeting due to lack of quorum and regretted from the officers.
PAC contains 26 members and only 6 member had come. Had 8 members been present then the proceedings could have been started.
