Islamabad: (Parliament Times) National Book Foundation (NBF) with an aim of book promotion culture in Pakistan embarking upon a comprehensive programme of holding one month book fairs far and wide in Pakistan.
The Advisor to Prime Minister for National History and Literary Heritage, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui has issued special instructions to NBF for keeping up a pace of literary and book reading oriented activities throughout the country. He has been taking keen interest personally in the book promotional activities by holding book fairs at NBF Book shops and outlets. It is the continuity of the series of “JashanaAzadi” festivities and the book fairs will be continued for the whole month from morning to evening at twenty four NBF outlets. The book lovers can avail the opportunity to purchase variety of books written on Pakistan History, Pakistan Movement, Freedom Movement, Quaid-e-Azam and AllamaIqbad specially on discounted affordable prices.
The renowned writers, prominent educationists and well known literary persons were the chief guests at the opening ceremonies of Book Fairs at different stations in the country.The dignities who embraced these occasions of opening ceremonies of Book Fairs are included secretary Education (Sindh) Mr. Parvaiz Ahmad Sahr at Karachi, ProfessorKhadim Ali Hashmi at Multan, Principal Higher Secondary School Pir Ghulam Ahmad at Dera Ismail Khan and colonel (Rtd) Azahar Mahmood Administrator Ghandhara College at WahCantt. The number of people from all walks of life are attending these Book Fairs and taking deep interest in this healthy activity with full fun and galla.
