Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Dilapidated condition of Federal Capital’s ancient village, Said Pur is the result of Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) negligence.
According to Online, CDA awarded status of Model Village to the said area in 1968 which was a home of just 385 houses at that time while CDA kept on selling this expensive land at throw away price resultantly the population increased unprecedentedly.
People living there have been deprived of basic amenities of life and facing gruesome problems of sewerage and cleanliness, pipeline providing clean drinking water is leaking and there is no gas in the area which is just two kilo meters away from red zone of Islamabad.
Online learnt reliably that people complained many times about leakage of water supply pipeline but it could not be repaired yet.
Construction of houses and animal sheds is posing another threat there as people illegally constructed unplanned houses and sheds which could be catastrophic in case of any natural disaster i.e. Earth quake, land sliding.
Quality of education being provided to the children of Said Pur in government schools is very poor and there is no governmental dispensary or hospital. Quacks are fleecing blood of poor in the name of treatment there and expensive hotel which have become a tradition mark of Said Pur are providing substandard food to the citizens.
According to law, concreted floor is prohibited in the area but dozens of concreted houses can be seen while entering into the Model village which is a sheer violation of CDA laws but nobody even dared to question the illegality there.
Officers of CDA’s enforcement wing divided the land and sold three marla, five marla and 10 marla plots in mud prices.
Inspection report revealed that if CDA had constructed the village according to plan, it would generate revenue of almost five billion rupees monthly but unfortunately goat market established by CDA in model village is only producing stinky smell.
