Islamabad : Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed petition for hearing in the case pertaining to the registration of Milli Muslim League (MML), the political front of the Jamaat-ud-Daa’wa (JuD), as a political party.
October 11 decision of Election Commission was challenged in IHC by MML in which EC and federation were made respondents` .
Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi counsel from the applicant appeared before the court. The applicant took stance in his petition that every party has constitutional right to form his party adding EC’s ban on party is illegal.
The petitioner said that EC did not register MML on the report of interior ministry and prayed that court should order the national institution to recheck the applicants’ documents besides setting aside October 11 orders.
The court after hearing arguments adjourned the hearing till 13 November and sought reply from parties.
