Srinagar : In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the attack on Muslims in Kathua by the goons of Hindu extremist organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) who enjoy patronage of the puppet authorities.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar said that targeting the majority community and intimidating them to instill fear and insecurity among them was part of the rightwing brigade’s plan, executed with the help of most willing and servile collaborators. He said, Kashmiris cannot be cowed down by these measures and they have made up their mind to give a tough fight to the oppression.
The Mirwaiz said, the puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, in one of her statements has blamed the Hurriyet leadership for a preplanned agitation and the same statement goes on to say that it (agitation) happened all of a sudden. After Burhan Wani’s killings people came out in large and unexpected numbers. He said that such contradictions in the utterances of the collaborators were natural as over the past 70 years to stay in power they had to speak lies to mislead and distort the truth.
The Mirwaiz said, “We have to stand by and provide support to the families of those killed, blinded, maimed and injured by the Indian forces. We are duty-bound to remember our martyrs.â€
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid glowing tributes to late Advocate Sheikh Abdul Rouf Dalal on his 5th anniversary. Recalling his contribution towards the Kashmir cause, he said throughout his life he worked with dedication and commitment to keep the Kashmir cause alive and contributed a lot on social, legal and educational fronts.
Meanwhile, on the appeal of joint resistance leadership, people protested in large numbers outside the Srinagar Jamia Masjid against the attack on Muslims by RSS goons in Kathua and demanded immediate action against the culprits. Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Advocate Yasir Dalal, Peer Ghulam Nabi and Farooq Ahmad Saudagar led the protest.
