Islamabad: Marriyum Aurangzeb, MNA, Monday was unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Special Committee on Child Abuse.
A meeting for the election of the Chairman of the Special Committee on Child Abuse was held Monday here at Parliament House. The members were welcomed by the Deputy Secretary (Co-ordination) and briefed them about the procedure for election of Chairman. The name of Ms. Marriyum Aurangzeb, MNA was proposed for Chairperson of the said Committee by Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam MNA and subsequently seconded by Zahid Hamid MNA.
Accordingly, it unanimously elected Ms. Marriyum Aurangzeb, MNA, as Chairperson of the Special Committee on Child Abuse. The Deputy Secretary (Co-ordination) congratulated the newly elected Chairperson on behalf of the Speaker, Secretary and Special Secretary National Assembly Secretariat. He also assured them of full support of the Secretariat for effective and efficient functioning of the Committee under the supervision of the Speaker.
The Committee recommended that detail report may be obtained regarding the latest laws including delegated legislation and judgment on the Child Abuse for further proceedings during the next meeting of the Committee. The meeting was attended by the Members concerned of the said Committee and officers from National Assembly Secretariat.
