NEW YORK: Pakistan permanent representative to the UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi has said there is need to place focus on poverty, ethnic, religious and tribal tension and climate change.
She said this while addressing UN General Assembly in New York.
Maleeha called for reviewing the root causes leading to old outstanding disputes for the sake of peace and stability in the world.
She held the international community is not making any headway for resolution of outstanding issues despite the fact it understands well the importance of lasting peace.
She underlined that foreign occupations, external interference and political and social injustices are hampering the durable peace.
This was the largest ever meeting of the member countries of UN General Assembly after September 2017.
