Lahore: Justice Aisha A. Malik of Lahore High Court has issued notices to federal government and chairman PEMRA.
On a petition against blocking of live coverage on media and a banning on social media of the Faizabad sit in and sought a reply.
The lawyer for the petitioner Azhar Sadique advocate told the court that sans any legal justification PEMRA has blocked the live coverage on channels of Faizabad sit in. He said under article 19 A of the constitution access to information is the fundamental and basic right of every citizen. Due to blockage of channels and social media the country came in the grip of rumors. It resulted not only in the harassment of citizens but also severely damaged the national economic activities.
He prayed to seek details reply from chairman PEMRA on illegally blocking the live coverage of Faizabad sit in on channels and on social media.
