NEW DELHI: Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Wednesday revealed that she has been on dialysis at AIIMS after suffering from akidney failure.
Swaraj also said she was undergoing tests for a possible kidney transplant. Swaraj, who has been admitted to AIIMS on November 7, shared the news with her followers on Twitter.
The 64-year-old minister, who has a history of chronic diabetes, was also admitted to a hospital in Delhi earlier this month.
Officials at the hospital told the news agency that “chronic diabetes has affected her kidney functioning but her condition was stable”.
She is one the most high-profile ministers in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet.
