ISLAMABAD: PTI chairman Imran Khan has challenged Election Reforms Act -2017 in Supreme Court (SC).
Imran Khan has filed a petition in SC under article 184-3 of public interest taking the plea that in sequel to PANAMA case verdict, Nawaz Sharif was not only disqualified as member of national assembly but also he had to leave PML-N chairmanship. Special amendments were made in the election act to seek post of president for Nawaz Sharif in PML-N..
Imran pleaded that whosoever becomes disqualified as member of parliament can not hold party office. Election act-2017 runs contrary to political parties orders 2002 and the amendments made in election act -2017 run contrary to article 175 and 204. Therefore clauses 9,10 and 203 of election reforms act be declared null and void.
