Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has slammed the occupation authorities for their apathetic and biased approach towards political prisoners.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “These prisoners are meted out ill-treatment and their basic rights are denied and trampled. It is violation of human rights.” He said instead of taking serious and sincere steps for resolution of the Kashmir dispute, the authorities are treating it as mere a law and order problem.
Referring to so-called amnesty to first-time ‘stone pelters’, he said, “It is a mere political stunt, drafted in Nagpur to label those pursuing freedom movement as stone pelters.
He said Indian government and its puppets in the territory felt annoyed and dejected when from 2008 to 2016 people in large numbers came on roads, resenting forced control and cases were filed against thousands of youth and later a few were released.
Syed Ali Gilani appealed to the international organisations to take cognizance of rights violations in the occupied territory.
The APHC Chairman condemned the slapping of draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) on Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yusuf Mir.
He expressed grief over the demise of sister of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Wahid Ahmad Mir, saying his mother was slain during ongoing movement.
He also expressed deep concern and grief over the loss of lives in the bomb attack on devotees in Egypt.
