BAHAWALPUR/LAHORE: Four women died in separate incidents after gusty winds, followed by heavy rain, hit various cities in Punjab on Tuesday.
Strong winds collapsed roofs and walls of several houses, besides blowing signboards away in cities across Punjab on Sunday.
The pre-monsoon rain lashed Multan, Bahawalpur, Jhang, Lodhran, Vehari, Khanewal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gojra, Bhakkar, Sargodha and Mianwali.
The incidents claimed lives of four women, while over a dozen people were reported injured.
Met Office has said that intermittent rains will continue in the region for the next few days.
Moreover, the torrential rain in Lahore resulted in tripping of 94 electricity feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company which led to power cuts in several areas in and around the city.
