Islamabad: The Federal Capital police has failed to control crime rate as incidents of thefts, land grabbing, car snatching, gambling are increasing in the areas day by day and police are playing the role of silent spectators.
The inner sources stated that some police personnel were also involved in corrupt practices and most of them believed that they are supervising the criminals.
Sources stated that for past several months’ incidents of car snatching, drug and liquor selling, house theft incidents had been increasing but the personnel of law enforcement agencies have no serious concern. Nearly 80% incidents of serious crimes were put under carpet.
According to a report, more than 700 spots of drugs and liquor selling were hidden established in the limits of 21 police stations of Federal Capital and they were doing this ugly business under the nose of police officials with any check and fear.
The most points were established in the areas of Tarnol, Golra, Bara Kahu, Secretariat, Khana, Korral and other areas.
The pockets of criminals were present in the limits of police stations Noon, Golra, Apbpara, Sahila, I-9, Sabzai Mandi, Shahmas Colony, Shahzad Town and others. On the other hand the purse-snatching incidents have been occurring frequently in Super Market located in sector F-6 and Jinnah Super Market in sector F-7 where motorcyclists come and loot the people.
The inner sources stared that currently 16 SHOs that were working in different police stations had allegedly appointed under favoritism and the main objective of these police officers was to collect money through all means. Sources stated that these police personnel do ugly business with the support of high-ups.
However, when high-ups of police contacted he stated that police is continuously checking the areas were crime rate is on rise. He added that strict action would be taken against any police official who involved in crime and those who facilitate this.
Responding a question, he stated that IG Islamabad Jan Muhammad and SSP Operation Syed Asad Ameen Bukhari have issued directions to all SPOs that all areas should be made criminal free and take such measures that increase people confidence on police.
