NEW YORK: Pakistan permanent envoy to UN, Maleeha Lodhi has said other countries in addition to Pakistan and China will also benefit from CPEC.
Ambassador Dr Maleeha Lodhi said in a speech to the General Assembly’s Second Committee, which deals with economic and financial matters.
She held Pakistan attaches enormous importance to cooperation among the developing countries. Pakistan is providing training, technical support and other resources to several developing countries.
She stressed that development aid should be extended to the countries in synch with individual requirements and priorities. Collaboration is imperative to bolster production potential. UN should focus on achieving objectives of sustainable development.
She underlined South-South collaboration is not substitute to North-South collaboration. South-South cooperation next meeting will take place in Argentina.
She remarked CPEC is matchless example of South-South cooperation.
