Lahore: Protest rallies were held on Friday against blasphemous material on the social media on the call given by Tehreek Hurmat e Rasool (SAW) (THR). Protest demonstrations were staged in different cities after Namaz e Juma. Thousands of people from all walks of life participated in the protest rallies. Participants carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of honor of Holy Prophet (SAW). The clerics and prayers leaders delivered Khutbat e Juma on the issues of Protection of Sanctity of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Protection of Pakistan’s ideology. Resolutions were passed against blasphemous contents on the social media. During protests, a rich tribute paid to Justice Shokat Aziz Siddique for his role.
In Lahore, big demonstration was held at Chouburji Chowk. Students, lawyers, traders, civil society and large number of people from all walks of life joined the demonstration. Addressing to protest, Chairman Nazriya Pakistan Rabita Council Qari Muhammad Yaqoub Sheikh said honor and dignity of the Holy Prophet (SAW) is the forehead of Pakistan’s constitution. Ideology, judiciary and law of Pakistan are incomplete without Sanctity of Prophet (SAW). He advised rulers to be a part of THR for dignity and honor of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Secretary General Jamiat Ahlehadith Allama Ibtisam Ellahi Zaheer said blasphemers should be put to death, according to Islamic Law. License of lawyers should be cancelled who speak in support of blasphemers. Central Leader Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD) Nasar Javed said blasphemies in honor of Holy Prophet are attack on Muslim Ummah. Head JuD Lahore Abul Hashim Rabbani, Central Leader Muttahida Jamiat Ahlehadith Sheikh Naeem Badshah and Convener Al-Ummah Lawyers Forum Rao Tahir Shakeel Advocate also spoke to demonstration.
