Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the continued house detention of the Mirwaiz.
The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “By placing Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house confinement, the authorities are preventing him from carrying out his religious, political and social activities.”
He deplored that the house detention of the Mirwaiz without any reason has become a routine for the authorities. This aggressive approach of the ruling class cannot stop the Mirwaiz and the people of Kashmir from raising their voice for their right to self-determination, he added.
The spokesman also condemned detention of the forum leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, at Saddar police station in Islamabad, saying that his health was deteriorating due to incarceration.
He paid rich tributes to the martyred youth including Zahid Ahmad Mir, Irfan Ahmad Ganai, Asif Ahmad Paul, Abu Bakar and Naseer Mir recently killed by Indian troops.
