Islamabad: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Justice Javed Iqbal has said that cellular companies operating different mobile networks in the country were found defaulters of 400 billion rupees tax annually.
According to a statement issued on Monday, he said that reports from Federal Board of Revenues (FBR) disclosed the cellular companies incurring a loss of 400 billion rupees every year by evading tax which is a huge burden on national exchequer.
Chairman NAB asserted to further improve tax collection system, adding Pakistan is a tremendous country for foreign investments but steps required for tax collection for safety of national interests.
Justice Javed Iqbal said that NAB has seven regional bureaus headed by Director Generals who have been ordered to solve corruption complaints as per law and to keep clients informed about the status of their complaints.
He clarified that stringent action would be taken against those NAB officials who would try to harass anyone against the law and found calling anyone for investigations after the enquiry.
