Islamabad: PML-N leader Captain (R) Safdar has challenged the indictment order of Accountability Court (AC) in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) .
AC has fixed October 13 for indictment of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, her daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Muhammad Safdar in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references.
Muhammad Safdar has filed a petition in IHC through Counsel Amjad Pervaiz a day before his indictment while taking the plea that according to law, time of 7 days is given for indictment but AC fixed date for indictment after four days. Indicting any one before 7 days is breach of article 265-C, he added.
Petitioner has prayed the court to suspend orders of AC.
Federation, NAB and Accountability Court have been made respondents in the petition.
It is vital to mention here that NAB has filed 3 references regarding Alazizia Steel Mills, Flag ship investment and field properties against Sharif Family in the light of SC verdict of July 28 while one reference has been filed against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.
