LAHORE: Chief Justice (CJ) Lahore High Court (LHC) has constituted bench to hear petition filed against conviction of Nawaz Saharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (Retd) Safdar.
The bench comprises Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza, Justice Shahid Mehmood Bhatti and Justice Mujahid-Mustaqeem Ahmad .
The petition has been filed by Lawyers Foundation for Justice (LFJ) through advocate A.K . Dogar.
The petitioner has taken the plea that NAB law stands no more following the introduction of 18th constitutional amendment. A person who has remained country’s Prime Minister for three times has been sentenced under this law which is illegal. Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (Retd) Safdar have been awarded punishment under a dead law which is illegal.
The petitioner prayed that court should nullify the punishment awarded to Nawaz Sharif and others under dead law of NAB.
