Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Accountant General Accounts Ayaz Khan and Director General Audit Aziz ur Rehman gave comprehensive briefing on the Department’s Accountability Reform Audit Plan 2016-17, 2017-18 and other matters to Auditor General of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Javed Jehangir here on Friday.
Control General Accounts of Pakistan Shagufta Khanum, Director Audit Mohammad Sadiq Chaudhary, Deputy Director Audit Mohammad Altaf Naqvi and other pertinent officials were present on this occasion.
Director General Accounting Muhammad Ayaz Khan said that the expenses for the next financial year will be computerized. He said that employees’ salaries and pensions have been programmed and more improvements in GPF funds and pensions are needed to ease pensioners from difficulty.
Muhammad Ayaz Khan said that 75 percent matters of the employees have been completed. ‘‘despite lack of staff, employees’ performance is better’’ adding that he also said that the matter of land and office building should also be taken to the Council secretariat so that all departments of Accountant General Office could be available at one place.
While briefing, Director General Audit, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Aziz ur Rehman, said that audit of 203 offices has been completed from 462 offices till 30 November 2017, however, six meetings of the Board of Directors have been held in 2017-18.
During the period 2017-18, recovery of 123.498 million rupees has been taken which is better than previous years. The recovery system is being improved further, he said.
Speaking on the occasion of briefing, Auditor General of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir Javed Jahangir said that all development expenditure should be computerized in the next fiscal year and also directed to computerize the salaries, pensions and GPF fund.
The Auditor General of Pakistan stated that the issue of office building will be raised at Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Secretariat. He said that lack of staff problem will be addressed before long and trainings of the staff will also be ensured so that the employees’ performance can be increased and they can provide better revenues. ‘‘Improvements should be made in the recovery system as it will also improve the performance; there is a dire need to improve the financial management’’ Jahangir added.
