Islamabad : An army major embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire during a search operation at a terrorist hideout in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor tweeted that security forces, acting upon intelligence reports, stormed a terrorists’ hideout in Dera Ismail Khan’s Tehsil, Kulachi during the operation major Ishaq, 28-year-old martyr, belonged to Khushab, Punjab martyred.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other high-ranking officials including Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Nazir Butt attended the funeral prayer of the martyred major which was held at DI Khan.
In his tweet, the ISPR chief said, “We have a sacred duty at hand of cleansing & defending our motherland; WE SHALL DO IT”.
It is pertinent to mention here that Major Ishaq has left behind a widow and an infant.
