ZHOB: Nationalist parties and civil society members strongly condemned the assassination of Haroon Bilour and other ANP activists during a protest demonstration here in Zhob.
ANP leaders and activists gathered at Maulana Shams-ud-Din Shaheed chowk and shouted full-throat slogans against the killing of Bacha Khan’s followers. Awami National party, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami party activists and civil society members in a large number participated in the protest demonstration.
Ex-speaker Balochistan Assembly, Ex-advisor to CM Balochistan and PB-2 candidate Jamal Shah Kakar also joined the protest demo and speaking on the occasion strongly condemned the attack on electoral rally. He said the assassination of Haroon Bilour and other activists was a great tragedy and loss to the nationalist party.
Speaking on the occasion President ANP Zhob and PB-2 candidate Muhammad Anwer Mandokhail, President ANP Sherani and candidate PB-1 Amanullah Hariphal, General Secretary Juma Khan Babar, Naqeebullah Mandokhail and Akhter Masroor also condemned the assignation of ANP leader Haroon Bilour and other party workers in strong words. They said the government and the state institutions were completely failed to provide security to the politicians and urged the government to ensure the security of candidates. They expressed concern over the chief justice’s order regarding withdrawal of security from politicians.
“The concerned officials should be questioned what action was taken to protect the politicians campaigning for the polls following the Taliban threats,” adding the killer of hundreds innocents people is enjoying perk and privileges but peaceful leaders are being targeted repeatedly. They said the party workers were the followers of the Bacha Khan’s non-violence approach and they were not afraid of the nefarious designs of terrorists. They prayed the Almighty Allah for the departed souls in eternal peace and grant fortitude to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
It is to be mentioned that Haroon Bilour was contesting the upcoming polls from PK-78 constituency. His father Bashir Bilour was also killed in a suicide attack in 2012.
