Muzaffarabad:Â The AJK Development Working Party in its meeting on Thursday approved 1043 million rupees for seven projects of four departments of Azad Kashmir for current financial year (2016-17).
The meeting was chaired by AJK Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Syed Asif Hussain Shah. These projects related to forest, watershed (3 projects) agriculture, irrigation and small dam (2), information technology (1), sports youth and culture departments (1) which will be completed at a cost of 168.864 million rupees. Four of these projects are ongoing while 3 new projects had been kicked off.
Under Annual Development Programme 226.927 million were approved for community based water shed management Muzaffarabad circle of forest department. 39 million rupees would be spent on this project during the current financial year. All the three schemes of of water shed management for three circles have been revised. Two projects are part of federal annual development programme. Under this programme 37.541 rupees would be spent for the protection of affected lands at the banks of rivers while 109.687 million had been set aside for trench at Munawar Bhimber. Rs. 151.313 had been approved for ongoing project of information technology – computerization of land record Dheerkot, Jhelum Valley and Dudeyal. In district Kotli 56.597 million rupees have been approved for Sani Stadium Complex Dhamol
Addressing the meeting the Additional Chief Secretary directed all the departments to complete the projects in time and ensure their standard and quality of work. He urged them to use the budget approved for the projects in time to ensure their completion so that people could be facilitated from projects.
