MIRPUR (AJK): Azad Jammu & Kashmir is all set to observe the defense day of Pakistan on Wednesday (September 06) with traditional fervor and the renewal of the pledge to be prepared and alert every moment to safeguard the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan.
Special ceremonies to observe the defense day of Pakistan will be held in various parts of AJK in the capital city of Muzaffarabad and the divisional headquarters of Mirpur and Rawalakot, besides the district and tehsil head quarters under the auspices of various social, political and government organizations to highlight the importance of the day.
These ceremonies will be held at all ten district head quarters of Mirpur, Havaili, Muzaffarabaad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Palandri, Kotli, Bhimbher, Hattiyan and Neelam valley to pay glorious tributes to the martyrs of the 1965 Indo-Pak war for giving the sacrifices of their valuable lives to safeguard the geographical and ideological frontiers of the country. Rich tributes would be paid to brave armed forces of Pakistan and ghazis who thwarted the enemy’s attack– who (India) resorted to undeclared war against our motherland – Pakistan in the darkness of the night on this day in 1965.
In Mirpur major ceremony will be arranged under the auspices of the local civil society under the fold of the National Events Organising committee with the coordination of the concerned local government functionaries and the civil society organisations.
“Kashmiris consider Pakistan their ultimate destination in all respect and through their indigenous liberation struggle, they (Kashmiris) will achieve the final goalâ€, said Dr. Amin Chaudhry, Chairman the NGO Jinnah Foundation AJK, which is also holding a defense day of Pakistan ceremony in AJK Wednesday. People from various parts of AJK will visit the mausoleums of the martyrs of 1965 war at the places close to their respective home stations including in Jhelum, Gujrat, Rawalpindi districts to offer fateha.
