ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister Imran Khan held meeting with AJK Premier Raja Farooq Haider Khan here on Tuesday.

The AJK PM also informed PM Khan about its reforms and two years performance.
“After turning the water of river Neelum to tunnel of Neelum-Jhelum power project not only the residents and surrounding people of Muzaffarabad faced acute environmental hazards but it also became difficult for state government to provide potable water to the citizens of capital city” He remarked.
To address this matter promptly we need to construct three lakes into the river Neelum, he added.
He said it is essential to leave a certain quantity of water in the river to avoid death of fishes and other water related creatures.
The AJK Premier proposed to review the Kuhala hydropower project so that we do have to face a situation like Neelum Jhelum project. He said for completion of ongoing projects continuation of provision of developmental funds to AJK was imperative.
Regarding 13th amendment Mr. Haider informed Mr. Khan that transferring of Council’s administrative and financial powers to AJK government was carried out unanimously in consultation with all political parties of the State. He said it addressed the problems of corruption, irregularity and embezzlement that prevailed in Kashmir Council before amendment.
“The completion of hundreds of projects especially in education sector in the quake hit areas could not be ensured because of paucity of funds. It needs federal government’s attention” he maintained.
He said reconstruction projects were impeded after funds worth 55 billion, aimed at completion of these projects, were transferred to federal government.
PM Khan assured the AJK Premier to resolve the administrative and financial problems of the state.
