Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Federal state Minister Abid Shair Ali has said that 90 percent of work at Neelum Jehlum power project has been completed and the project is expected to start functioning by the end of next year.
Abid Shair Ali who visited Muzaffarabd to review the progress on the project here Wednesday told media men that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was taking keen interest in early completion of the mega power project so as to rid the country of load shedding. He said that due to former rulers’ criminal negligence towards the issue of power generation incumbent regime has been facing immense difficulties. “No attention was paid towards generating electricity in the countryâ€, he said adding that timely completion of Neelum Jehlum power project would help to overcome the energy short fall in the country. He said that deliberate delay in the completion of power project and corruption of billions of rupees by the respective regimes in the past has caused enormous loss to the national kitty.
Replying to a query, Abid Shair Ali said that Imran Khan and Asif Zardari have now joined hands to destabilize the federal government.
Meanwhile, briefing the state minister about the project CEO Neelum Jehlum power project Brigadier ® Zareen told the visiting minister that 969 power project would start producing electricity by the end of 2017.
