MUZAFFARABAD (Daily Parliment Times) : At least eight people were killed in a road accident near Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on late Tuesday evening, official said.
The vehicle was heading to Seri Darra village from Muzaffarabad when the accident took place at about 8:30 pm, a police officer told the media.
All the eight people on board died on the spot as police and rescue teams recovered all eight bodies from the site of the accident.
“It was not known how the driver lost control of the vehicle which skidded off the road and hit the rocky gorge over 3000 feet down,” he said, adding the police were investigating the cause of the accident.
Those who died in the a fatal road accident were identified as: Naveed son of Muhammad Din, Qasim son of Bashir, Ghulam Hussain son of Bashir, Javed son of Imam Din, Bashir son of Saeen, Muhammad Sadiq son of Muhammad Din, Aslam son of Noor and Nargis Bibi daughter of Imam Din.
AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan have expressed their profound sorrow and grief over the tragic accident and loss of lives. They prayed that Allah Almighty may rest the deceased in eternal peace and give fortitude and patience to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
