Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, seven personnel of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force were injured in a grenade attack in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. A police official confirmed that unknown attackers lobbed a grenade towards the CRPF party at Jawbehra Chowk near Awantipora in the district, last night.
Four of the injured soldiers were shifted to local hospitals in Awantipora, while three critically injured were referred to army base hospital in Srinagar.
The injured soldiers were identified as Ratikant Malik, Oom Prakash, Brain Singh, Rohit Verma, A Mohan Rao, JK Padh and Raju Gagayee
Soon after the incident, the Indian forces launched searches in the area to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile, another attack with grenade was launched at a camp of 22-Rashtriya Rifle at Seelo Sopore in Baramulla district, last night. However, no one was injured in the attack. “The rifle grenade was followed by firing which continued for some time,” a police official said.
Senior superintendent of police Javid Iqbal told media that the area had been cordoned off and searches had been launched to trace the attackers
