Saudi Arabia,(Parliament Times):Pakistan’s newly appointed Consul General in Saudi Arabia, Syed Mustafa Rabbani, invited representatives of the Pakistani media community in Jeddah to visit the new building of the Consulate General of Pakistan, Jeddah. The visit included a tour of the newly constructed consulate building, an overview of the available facilities, a detailed briefing in the conference room, and a high tea reception. Senior officials present on the occasion included Ghulam Hussain, Head of Chancery (HOC), Akif Iqbal, Welfare Consular, Ms. Sadia Khan, Commercial Consular, Muhammad Irfan, Press Consular, along with other officers and staff members of the consulate. Representatives from major Pakistani media houses based in Saudi Arabia attended the event in large numbers. Welcoming the guests, Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani said that the initial handover phase of the new building had been completed successfully and that work on the final handover phase was in progress. He added that minor technical observations and shortcomings were being identified and resolved to ensure improved services for the Pakistani community.
During the briefing session, Head of Chancery Ghulam Hussain informed participants that the consulate complex covers approximately 18,000 square meters and has been designed to provide multiple services under one roof. These include passport, NADRA, visa, emergency travel documents, attestation, trade and investment, community welfare, and Hajj wing facilities. During the question-and-answer session, media representatives suggested that the standards and dignity of the consulate should be maintained by keeping it free from unnecessary and political influence. Responding to the suggestions, Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani assured participants that their feedback and recommendations would be taken seriously to further improve consular services and facilities. Before concluding the visit, the Consul General also showed the participants the media room, cafeteria, and parking area, and thanked the media representatives for their participation and cooperation.
