Islamabad,(Parliament Times):Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore on Wednesday called for greater unity within the Muslim Ummah, promotion of global peace, and adherence to the true teachings of Islam, while addressing the 6th International Paigham-e-Islam
Conference in Islamabad.Speaking at the conference organized by the Pakistan Ulema Council under the theme “Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” the AJK Prime Minister described his participation as an honor and a
responsibility. He commended the organizers for providing an important international platform aimed at fostering unity among Muslims and projecting Islam’s message of moderation, tolerance, and harmony.He extended a warm welcome to the distinguished Palestinian guests, noting that their presence had further elevated the significance of the forum. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, acknowledging their leadership in strengthening Pakistan’s economic resilience, defense preparedness, and diplomatic standing. He said their efforts have reinforced Pakistan’s role as a credible and stabilizing force in the Muslim world.Emphasizing the core teachings of Islam, he stated that Islam is a religion of balance, compassion, and tolerance, rejecting all forms of extremism. Referring to the concept of “Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” drawn from the Holy Qur’an (Surah As-Saff: 4), he underscored the importance of unity and collective strength, observing that nations achieve resilience when they stand together like a solid structure.Highlighting regional security dynamics, he noted that during last year’s tensions, Pakistan
demonstrated unity and resolve, responding effectively to aggression and safeguarding its sovereignty—an example, he said, of the strength derived from national cohesion.On Kashmir, the Prime Minister described the region as a symbol of patience, sacrifice, and peaceful resistance. He reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are engaged in a legitimate struggle for their right to
self-determination. Condemning ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he urged the international community to ensure implementation of United Nations
resolutions on the dispute.He also strongly denounced the ongoing violence in Palestine, including attacks on civilians and violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Reaffirming solidarity with the
Palestinian people, he called for an effective and decisive response from the global community.The AJK Prime Minister highlighted the evolving role of religious scholars, noting that their influence now
extends beyond traditional spaces into the digital domain. He urged ulema to utilize modern communication tools and educational platforms to effectively convey Islam’s true message and counter rising Islamophobia.Stressing the importance of education, he said it must go beyond academic achievement to include character-building, ethical values, and a sense of responsibility. “Education without moral grounding becomes mere information,” he remarked, emphasizing the need
to nurture a principled and informed younger generation.Calling for unity within diversity, he said differences of opinion should not lead to division, but rather be managed with mutual respect and a shared sense of purpose. He underscored that strong families form the foundation of strong societies and that youth, if properly guided, can become a nation’s greatest asset.He urged collective national effort—across political, social, and institutional lines—to promote development, social welfare, and national cohesion.
He also emphasized the need for the Muslim world to advance in science, technology, education, and economic development to secure its rightful place in the global order.Reiterating support for interfaith harmony, he said Islam teaches respect for all humanity and encourages dialogue and coexistence in an increasingly diverse world.In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister reaffirmed unwavering support for the causes of Kashmir and Palestine, urging the Ummah to move beyond rhetoric and take practical steps toward justice and unity. said that Pakistan, as an ideological state, is founded on the principles of Islam, unity, and sacrifice. He noted that welfare of the underprivileged is a shared responsibility of both the state and society, adding that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal continues to serve vulnerable communities across the country.The conference was attended by a large number of scholars from various schools of thought, religious leaders, and members of civil society, and concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s stability and the freedom of Kashmir.
