    Altaf Hamid Rao
    MIRPUR  ( AJK),(Parliament Times):
Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that the general elections 2026 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir will be held on time in a free, fair and transparent manner.

While talking to this Correspondent here yesterday at the side line of a reception meeting hosted by Kashmir Press Club Mirpur in his honour to mark his ever visit to this city since taking over the office, Rathore said that his  government will ensure holding of the polls to the 53 seat Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly in a peaceful,  transparent and fair manners.

To a question, Rathore said that his party will contest the elections independently fielding its candidates in all electoral constituencies of the state legislature. “However the party can reach into the electoral alliances with any of the  like-minded party, minus PML-N, fielding joint candidates under the traditional seats adjustment policy in the polls”, Faisal categorically added while responding to a supplementary question about the forthcoming general elections-2026, due to be held in mid of this year.

Responding to a question about the fate of 12 seats meant for Pakistan-based Jammu Kashmir  refugees including AJK residents, Prime Minister Rathore said that a committee has already been formed to this direction to review and decide the matter. “The fate of the above 12 seats are now subject to the decision to be taken by the foreskin committee”, he added.

To another  question, the Prime Minister said that his government has taken steps in adverse circumstances that have not been done even in the past sixty years.
