MIRPUR ( AJK),(Parliament Times):Unveiling Rs. 20 million Mirpur Div Teaching Hospital Emergency Services uplift plan here Tuesday Medical Superintendent Divisional Teaching Hospital Mirpur Prof. Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Raja has said that the government of Azad Jammu Kashmir was taking serious steps for the uplify of the health sector matching to the need of the modern age, the announcement of Rs 20 million for emergency services by Prime Minister Azad Jammu Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore was a significant and unprecedented move for the speedy progress of health sector in the State.
He was talking tolocal media representatives here on Tuesday. Deputy Medical Superintendent DHQ hospital Dr Maria Zulfiqar and heads of various departments ofvtge hospital were also present on this occasion.
Elaborating salient features of the broad-faced uplift plan Dr. Ijaz said that the emergency facilities at the DHQ Hospital Mirpur have been improved with the immediate required increase in number of beds from 12 to 24, ti make it possible to provide immediate and better medical assistance to the patients landing in the emergency.
Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Raja further said that a proposal to give the Kashmir Institute of Cardiology the status of a full-fledged Cardiology hospital has been moved to the government. ” Responding the proposal, the AJK Prime Minister has assured to take up the proposal in next in the next cabinet meeting. He said that the budget of the Cardiology Institute has been increased from Rs 6 million to Rs 60 million, which will significantly improve the efficiency and facilities of the institution. He said that work was also in progress to provide modern bypass and stent facilities to make the Cath Lab functional in order to provide quality treatment to heart patients at the local level, he added.
” Necessary steps were also being taken to construct a perimeter wall to further strengthen the security of the hospital”, he said. The MS DHQ Mirpur also announced the introduction of a regular form to bring transparency in the referral system, through which it will be possible to determine whether the negligence of the doctor in referring the patient was due to the problem at the administrative level.
He thanked the State government in general and the local ministers in particular for ensuring immediatr measures to improve the hospital services to the needy making them possible due to their personal interest.
Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Raja clarified that any kind of administrative dereliction of duties and negligence on the part of any medical or para medical stffer, will not be tolerated in the hospital. He said that the life and health of the patient stands atop his priorities and he will continue to take all possible steps for the betterment of the patients.
Dr. Ijaz categorically said that he will not succumb to any kind of pressure or blackmail and will continue to make decisions in the interest of the institution with prime focus to serve the ailing humanity indiscriminately.
Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Maria Zulfiqar also highlighted various steps to improve the required best possible services at tgd Div Teaching Hospital.
