Islamabad,(Parliament Times):Muhammad Bilal Muhammadzai, Additional General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League (KP), has expressed serious concern over the ongoing unannounced and prolonged load shedding in District Charsadda and across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terming it a violation of citizens’ fundamental rights and constitutional obligations.

In an official press statement, he said that it is the primary responsibility of the state to ensure uninterrupted provision of basic facilities to its citizens. Electricity, he emphasized, is not only a basic necessity but also a vital component for sustaining economic, educational, and social activities. The current situation in Charsadda reflects a failure on the part of the concerned institutions to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities.

He further stated that the Constitution of Pakistan obligates the state to ensure uninterrupted access to basic services. The prevailing situation stands in clear contrast to this obligation, with a visible lack of transparency and equitable distribution. Unannounced load shedding has not only paralyzed daily life but has also severely affected students’ education, business activities, and the healthcare sector, amounting to a blatant violation of public rights.

Bilal Muhammadzai stressed that fair and transparent distribution of electricity is a legal and constitutional duty of state institutions. He demanded that the relevant authorities immediately review the current load shedding system, put an end to unannounced outages, and ensure electricity supply under a clear, practical, and public-friendly schedule.

He warned that failure to address this critical issue promptly and effectively would lead to increased public unrest, with far-reaching consequences for social and economic stability. He urged the government and concerned authorities to uphold the Constitution and law by providing immediate relief to the people of Charsadda.

He concluded by stating that Pakistan Muslim League (Q) will continue to raise its voice at every level for the protection of citizens’ constitutional and democratic rights and will take a firm stand against any form of injustice.
