    Integrated plan for uplift of health, medical education sectors in AJK afoot : AJK Secretary Health Services Brig. Tipu

    MIRPUR  ( AJK),(Parliament Times):Azad Jammu Kashmir Secretary State Health Services  Department Government Brigadier Aamir Raza Tipu inaugurated the latest upgraded Operation Theatre Complex in Mirpur Divisional Headquarters Teaching Hospital Mirpur. 

    “This upgradation was possible with the mutual collaboration of the State Health Department and the International Non Governmental Organization MAC for  provision of modern and quality  surgical facilities in the hospital, Medical Superintendent DHQ hospital Dr Ijaz Ahmed Raja told our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao AJK on this occasion on Saturday. 

    Speaking on this occasion the Brig. Tipu  said  that the AJK government was determined to utilize all possible resources for the improvement of the health and medical education sectors in Azad Jammu Kashmir 

    He assured continuation of full assistance and cooperation  by the government full  for further upgradation of the hospital and the state-run MBBS Medical College Mirpur-AJK. 

    The Secretary Health conducted a detailed inspection of the Operation Theatre and reviewed the modern equipment, machinery and facilities provided as per international standards, on this occasion. 

    He congratulated Medical Superintendent Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Raja, the Hospital administration and staff on this important step, terming it an important milestone in the development of the hospital. 

    After visiting the operation theater, the Health Secretary visited the Surgical ICU, where he inspected the patients undergoing treatment, especially the well-being of the patients admitted after robotic surgery, and expressed satisfaction with the medical facilities provided.  He also appreciated the professionalism of the doctors and staff. 

    He was also briefed about the “Surgical Week” concluded in the hospital late Friday, during which several complex operations were successfully performed under modern treatment methods, including robotic surgery.  

    In this regard, the efforts of Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Raja (Chairman Organizing Committee) were also appreciated, under whose supervision the successful organization of this important medical event was possible. 

    Later, he conducted a detailed inspection of the Accident and Emergency Department and its adjacent areas and reviewed the service delivery, cleanliness arrangements and the overall situation. During the inspection, a briefing was given regarding the water drain passing through the adjacent area, in which it was informed that a plan to cover this drain and repair and construct a protective wall has already been prepared under the supervision of Medical Superintendent Dr. Ijaz, with the aim of improving cleanliness and securing the hospital area.On the occasion of the visit, the Secretary  Health Servicez also planted a sapling in the hospital premises to promote the plantation campaign and stressed the importance of such measures for environmental improvement. 

     Medical Superintendent Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Raja gave a detailed briefing to the Secretary Health on the overall performance of the hospital and recent development initiatives.  He said that with the upgradation of the operation theatre complex, complex surgeries have now become possible at the local level, which will benefit not only Mirpur but also the patients of the adjoining districts.

    Secretary  Health Brigadier Aamir Raza Tipu appreciated the performance of the hospital administration and especially the educational and institutional services of Professor Dr. Faisal Bashir, Principal of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College Mirpur. He said that due to effective coordination between the college and the hospital, there was a significant improvement in both the fields of medical education and treatment.
