Unity, loyalty, and political resolve define Abbaspur Gujjar community meeting
Abbaspur ,(Parliament Times): In an extraordinary meeting of the Poonch-I constituency PML-N Gujar community, it was unanimously decided to extend full support to former minister Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin . The community also firmly resolved to oppose any “parachute decision” and to stand with genuine party workers, raising a voice of protest through a formal resolution.
A joint declaration was issued by representatives from all union councils, wards, traders, lawyers, youth wings, and district councilors in favor of Yasin . The meeting, attended by hundreds of influential political figures, resulted in several key decisions, including the return of disgruntled party workers and influential leaders who had joined other parties, reaffirming their trust in Yasin Gulshan and agreeing to move forward collectively after resolving past grievances.
The important consultative meeting and Eid Milan gathering was held at the residence of retired headmaster Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin Ghulam in Abbaspur. Prominent elders of the Gujar community and PML-N representatives from four union councils of the upper belt, along with political leaders, lawyers, traders, and youth representatives, participated in the event.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Central Vice President of PML-N Azad Kashmir and former minister Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin Gulshan, while the session was chaired by former Zakat Chairman Haji Chaudhry Noor-ud-Din Zia Gorasi. Renowned religious scholar Mufti Kashmir Maulana Mufti Muhammad Hussain Chishti also specially attended the event.
Other notable participants included former candidate of the Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Ahmad Rasheed Sagar, district councilor Kamran Aziz Chauhan, Secretary General PML-N Chaudhry Shafiq Advocate, Bar Association President Chaudhry Akram Advocate, traders’ leaders, youth representatives, and several former councilors and local influencers.
During the meeting, detailed consultations were held regarding the 2026 elections. The Gujar community demonstrated strong unity and consensus, expressing full confidence in Chaudhry Yasin Gulshan and pledging complete support in the upcoming elections. It was also decided that he would be fielded with a symbolic backing of over 18,000 votes.
The participants emphasized that the Gujar community, being the largest and most influential group in the constituency, has always played a vital role in bringing PML-N into power and will continue to do so. They unanimously agreed that no political experiment would be acceptable except under the leadership of Yasin Gulshan.
The community leaders declared that Yasin Gulshan is the only leader trusted by all tribes of the constituency and has a strong electoral track record, having been elected three times as a member of the assembly. They stated that he has already applied for the PML-N ticket and deserves full party endorsement.
The meeting further warned the party leadership that any injustice in ticket distribution, imposition of non-political candidates, or attempts to impose outsiders would lead to serious consequences. In such a scenario, the Gujar community and party workers of Abbaspur would be free to decide their future course of action, while continuing to stand firmly with Yasin Gulshan.
It was also decided that another important meeting of party workers from the lower belt of Abbaspur constituency would be held in the coming days to finalize further consultations and organizational matters.
