Muzaffarabad,(Parliament Times):Director General Saeed-ur-Rehman Qureshi, while speaking to the media in a special interaction regarding the Mangla Dam water rescue operation, stated that the incident that occurred the previous night was an emergency situation of a serious nature. In response to a question about the nature of the incident, he explained that a sudden windstorm and severe weather conditions had put people present in the dam area in significant danger. Upon receiving the information, Rescue 1122 Mirpur teams responded immediately and initiated a timely rescue operation.

Responding to another question about how the operation was successfully carried out despite extreme weather conditions, he said that the professional training and teamwork of the personnel were the key factors behind the success. Despite harsh weather, strong winds, and limited visibility, the teams executed a well-planned strategy and safely rescued 115 individuals.

When asked about the biggest challenge during the operation, he stated that the ??? of the weather was the primary difficulty. Conducting a rescue operation in water during a storm is extremely dangerous; however, the rescuers risked their own lives to save others.

In response to a question regarding the performance of Rescue 1122 Mirpur, DG Saeed-ur-Rehman Qureshi remarked that the department demonstrated exemplary performance. He described the institution as a source of pride and its personnel as true heroes of the nation.

He also urged the public to adopt precautionary measures during adverse weather conditions and avoid unnecessary visits to water bodies. In case of any emergency, citizens should immediately contact Rescue 1122. He added that efforts are ongoing to further enhance operational capacity through the provision of modern equipment and advanced training, ensuring a swift and effective response to any emergency situation.

The successful rescue operation at Mangla Dam stands as clear evidence of the professionalism of Rescue 1122 and reflects a strong commitment to prioritizing the protection of human life under all circumstances.
