Muzaffarabad,(Parliament Times):The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has said that the present government is taking practical steps for the welfare of the public despite facing resource limitations. ? Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Forester/Forest Guard Association here today, Prime Minister Rathore said that decisions were being made keeping in view the ground realities and available resources.
“Practical steps are being taken to protect the rights of farmers, laborers, and the poor,” the prime minister said. The PPP government, he said, has always prioritized the solution of public problems in all circumstances. ” The ad hoc employees are the responsibility of the government,” he said, adding that tangible efforts were being made to secure their future.
About the status of 878 forest rangers, the PM said, “A workable solution to this issue will be found soon after having consultations with the Finance Department in the next few days.” He assured that the issues of women foresters would be resolved on a priority basis. “A special package for Forest Department employees injured or killed in service will be introduced soon, while a committee on risk allowances for the employees of other departments will submit recommendations within two weeks,” the PM added. He reiterated his government’s commitment to take all possible steps to live up to the trust and expectations of the people. The Prime Minister, on the occasion, stressed the protection and preservation of forests, calling them indispensable for the world’s survival. “To ensure the protection of forests is our collective responsibility,” he remarked. The AJK premier also hailed Pakistan’s historic role in defusing tensions in the Middle East. He termed Israel’s aggressive policies a threat to regional and world peace. “Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s unprecedented role in bringing warring parties on the negotiating table is being appreciated all over the world,” Rathore said, adding that Field Marshal visited Iran to convey a message of peace and solidarity to the world. He said that Pakistan’s political and military leadership was playing an exemplary role in establishing peace in the region and beyond. Earlier, Prime Minister Rathore administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Forester/Forest Guard Association. On this occasion, Minister for Forests of Azad Kashmir Sardar Javed Ayub, Secretary Forest Chaudhry Farid, Director General of Forests (Principal) Sardar Iftikhar Khan, Director General (Regional) Malik Asad Mahmood, Director General of Forests (Regional) Senior Adviser Raja Abid Khan, President Forest Guard Association Saleem Awan, local government representatives, and others were present. The prime minister was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival at the venue.
