Khoi Ratta,(Parliament Times):Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister for Information, Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Muhammad Rafiq, has announced that the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir will address a grand public gathering of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the Dhyari Bagh area of Khoi Ratta on Friday, April 24. He said the rally will be a significant and historic political event in the region.
He stated that the PPP accepted governance in Azad Kashmir as a challenge and, within a short span of just five months, has introduced notable reforms that have restored public confidence in the government system.
He was addressing a detailed press conference at the Khoi Ratta Press Club, where other party leaders were also present.
The Information Minister said the government will not allow ongoing development projects to be halted and is instead further improving them. He added that construction work on bridges and roads is underway, while THQ Hospital is being upgraded with modern facilities to strengthen the healthcare system. He reaffirmed that the government will fulfill the trust placed in it by the people.
He said the PPP government has broken a prolonged phase of political stagnation in Azad Kashmir, and a genuine democratic environment has now been restored in which all political parties are actively participating. He said general elections will be held on schedule between June 1 and August 1, and the government will seek public support again based on its performance.
He further said that the April 24 rally is not just a political gathering but a display of public strength, with large participation expected from Khoi Ratta and surrounding areas. He instructed party workers and office bearers to work day and night for the success of the event.
PPP Azad Kashmir Vice President Abdul Qayyum Qamar said this will be the Prime Minister’s first visit to Khoi Ratta, and workers must ensure a grand reception. He said the rally would prove that PPP is the largest and most popular party in Azad Kashmir, and would revive the tradition of historic workers’ conventions.
President PPP District Kotli Chaudhry Pervez Akbar said the party has ended public unrest in Azad Kashmir and established genuine public rule. He added that the April 24 rally will mark the beginning of the journey toward success in the upcoming elections.
PPP leader Chaudhry Muhammad Mehboob said that party workers, including PSF and PYO, must play an active role to make the rally successful and memorable through collective effort.
Responding to questions during the press conference, the Information Minister said all mega development projects will be completed as planned. He clarified that elections are the responsibility of the Election Commission, while the government will ensure peace and order.
Regarding the Action Committee’s demands, he said the government has fulfilled all legitimate demands within its constitutional mandate. He added that the question of changes in migrant seats lies with the assembly, and no one has the authority to delay elections.
He also noted that the abolition of the quota system has affected medical seats for students of Azad Kashmir and said the issue is under serious consideration. He urged the public to use electricity responsibly and avoid unnecessary consumption.
In conclusion, he said party ticket distribution is the prerogative of the party leadership, and workers will fully support all nominated candidates to ensure PPP’s success and continued public service.
