Brussels,(Parliament Times):Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Kashmir’s premier pro-independence organisation, held an online oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected Supreme Council, which forms an electoral college for the central party elections.
The online ceremony was administered by the chief Election Commissioner, Sardar Qadeer Khan and his 5 member team.
Chief Election Commissioner administered the oath for near 3 dozen newly appointed Council Members from JKLF’s six Zones spread over 4 continents, including Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, Middle East , UK, Europe and America
This is the first stage in electing the new central body for the Organisation whose Chairman,Yasin Malik remains incarcerated in India’s Tihar jail.
JKLF Supreme Council members who took oath did not include Members from the Indian held Kashmir because of restrictions imposed on them by the Indian government.
On this occasion JKLF leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue their united and collective organisational struggle to achieve long cherished goal and objectives for reunited and independent Jammu Kashmir.
The election commissioner emphasized on the importance of democratic and transparent elections process, which is stipulated in the organisations secular constitution as part of the historic party’s central convention to be held at the end of the month
It was also emphasised that Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, under the leadership of unlawfully imprisined leader, Yasin Malik,will continues to be a national voice for Jammu Kashmir at the national and international level and will continue to engage in the just and democratic struggle for independence to re-establish a united, independent, sovereign, and secular state.
The members of the Supreme Council who took oath included, Raja Muzaffar Khan, Azmat A. Khan, Sardar Rauf Kashmiri, Syed Tauqeer Gilani, Sabir Kashmiri Advocate, Sardar Naseem Iqbal Advocate,Tausif Jaral Advocate, Shakeel Chaudhry Advocate, Abid Ayub Advocate, Engineer Qasim Khokhar, K M Abdullah Advocate, Saad Ansari Advocate Shakeel Jaral Masoom Ansari, Ahsan Ansari, Tahseen Gilani, Intizar Naqvi, Sardar Munsif Khan, Jahangir Mirza, Hafiz Muhammad Siddique, Haleem Khan, Ayaz Karim, Waheed Hayat, Shehzad Gelani, Mahmood Butt, Abid Hameed, Nasir Sarwar, Raja Tufail, Masood Iqbal Mir, Ashfaq Qamar, Shabbir Jerall, Aftab Fazil, and Mushtaq Diwan.
The ceremony was concluded with the express hope that the newly elected members of the Supreme Council would endeavour to fulfill their responsibilities outline in Party’s constitution, and play a critical role in making party policies and decisions to strengthen the movement and the organization for the betterment of better of freedom movement, national unity, and sovereignty of the Jammu Kashmir state.
