MIRPUR ( Parliament Times): –US based Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (Yasin) Raja Muzaffar, while welcoming Pakistan ‘s successful move brokering for ceasefire of Iran-US/Israel armed conflict, expressed the hope that the much-expected ‘Islamabad Accord’ will lead to emergence of regional and global as a result of talks commencing in Pakistan’s capital city from Saturday.
“Although confined to rest in recent days due to a cardiac ailment, I have been closely following the ongoing diplomatic developments in the region. The ceasefire negotiations being held in Islamabad between the United States and Iran, facilitated by Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy, mark a promising moment for peace and stability in the broader region”, the Kashmiri leader said in a telephonic interview from the United States to our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao on Friday.
Raja Muzaffar, also Chairman – Kashmir Peace Committee, Dallas Texas-based Peace and Justice Center, continued that Pakistan’s effective role as mediator, facilitator, and bridge-builder in this critical dialogue demonstrates both maturity and credibility on the global diplomatic stage. Islamabad’s balanced and solution-oriented engagement has reaffirmed its potential as a trusted channel for constructive international dialogue and conflict resolution.
This successful mediation also carries broader implications beyond the immediate U.S.–Iran context. Washington’s renewed confidence in Pakistan’s diplomacy could open the door for a more active and principled international engagement on long-standing issues in South Asia—particularly the Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan.
Raja Muzaffar said that if key global powers, including the United States, recognize the potential of sustained dialogue and mutual trust, this development could serve as a blueprint for future diplomatic initiatives aimed at lasting peace and stability in the region. “We remain hopeful that the current momentum will lead to enduring peace and cooperation, not only between the U.S. and Iran but across the wider South Asian landscape”, he added.
