Islamabad ,(Parliament Times):In the ongoing tense situation between Iran, the United States, and Israel, Pakistan’s role in facilitating mediation is a highly welcome and commendable development. Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights, Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri, stated in a statement that the negotiations and ceasefire efforts taking place on Pakistan’s soil are a ray of hope not only for the region but for the entire world. She said that Pakistan has always been an advocate of peace, stability, and dialogue, and in the current circumstances, Pakistan’s diplomatic role reflects that of a responsible and serious state. Welcoming the negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire, she emphasized that dialogue, rather than the use of force, is the only sustainable solution to conflicts. Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri further said that, God willing, if these negotiations succeed, the credit for the ceasefire will go to Pakistan, which will not only enhance the country’s global prestige but also further strengthen its diplomatic standing worldwide. She added that this would be a major diplomatic achievement, projecting Pakistan as an effective and peace-loving nation on the global stage.

She also appreciated the role of Field Marshal, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Syed Asim Munir, stating that his leadership, strategic vision, and sincere efforts in bringing the parties to the negotiating table for a ceasefire are commendable. She noted that his services for national security and regional peace are invaluable, and under his leadership, Pakistan has played a responsible and effective role that is being recognized internationally. She further stressed that effective and practical measures are essential to curb Israel’s growing war aggression. The international community, particularly the United Nations, must play a positive and responsible role in this regard and make serious efforts to ensure peace in the region. She added that, in the future, the United Nations and other international institutions must also take an active and effective role in preventing such conflicts so that no country is given the opportunity to commit aggression.

Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri also highlighted the importance of unity among Muslim countries, stating that in the current situation, mutual unity among Muslim nations has become a pressing necessity. She said that a comprehensive and effective strategy must be adopted to protect Palestine and other Muslim countries from Israeli aggression, ensuring not only their security but also lasting peace in the region. She further stated that a ceasefire would not only prevent the loss of precious human lives but also open new avenues for economic stability, trade growth, and public welfare in the region. The end of ongoing tensions would strengthen the global environment of peace and security and reduce the risk of large-scale destruction.

The Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights, Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri, urged the international community to fully support Pakistan’s peace efforts and encourage all parties to continue the process of dialogue so that a peaceful, stable, and secure world can be achieved.
