Canada,(Parliament Times):Founder and Chairman of Helen Welfare International Society Sardar Anjum Bhatti has said in a statement that the decision of the Constitutional Court in Pakistan has caused serious concerns among the minority community and has called it a very important matter regarding constitutional, legal and human rights. After this decision, minor girls are being abducted and forced into marriage in different areas of Punjab.
The court’s decision in the Maria Shahbaz case also contradicts the principles of equality and religious freedom given in the Constitution of Pakistan. The minority community has always played a vital role in the security, stability and prosperity of Pakistan and has respected the country’s institutions, especially the courts, at every opportunity. However, the recent court decision has left the minority community, especially the Christian community, deeply disappointed. He added that in such sensitive and important matters, it is very important to take all schools of thought, especially minority representatives, into confidence so that the decisions can be balanced, fair and acceptable. Through this process, harmony, tolerance and justice can be promoted in the society.
