Islamabad,(Parliament Times): Chief Executive Officer of Khawaja Corporation, Raja Fahad Rathore, hosted a grand and dignified Iftar dinner in honor of the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, federal ministers, members of the All Kashmir Newspapers Society, elected members of the Kashmir Journalists Forum, editors, members of the Kashmir Beat Reporters Association, and representatives of digital media.
Among those who attended the Iftar dinner were Government Advisor Sardar Ahmed Sagheer, Member of Legislative Assembly Javed Butt, former MLA Raja Masood Mumtaz Rathore, Member Kashmir Council Raja Shuja Khurshid Rathore, former Advisor Raja Mubashir Ijaz, Director General Political Affairs Aamir Zeeshan Jarral, Political and Media Assistant Syed Azadar Hussain Kazmi, Prime Minister’s Spokesperson Shaukat Javed Mir, Chairman Ulema and Mashaikh Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali, Press Secretary Asif Ali Rathore, Public Relations Officers, and several prominent individuals from different walks of life.
When the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir arrived at the Iftar dinner, the participants welcomed him with a standing ovation. On this occasion, he also held informal discussions with media representatives and appreciated their professional services.
The Prime Minister said that the promotion of free, responsible, and constructive journalism in Azad Kashmir is among the government’s top priorities. He stated that the media serves as the eyes and ears of society and plays a vital role in conveying state affairs, public issues, and government initiatives to the people.
He further said that the government is committed to strengthening the relationship of mutual respect and trust with the media. The Prime Minister acknowledged that the journalist community has always played a commendable role in presenting facts before the public and promoting democratic values even in difficult circumstances.
He added that the government is taking serious steps to address the issues faced by journalists and to ensure their welfare so that they can perform their professional responsibilities with freedom and responsibility.
The Prime Minister also remarked that the holy month of Ramadan teaches patience, tolerance, brotherhood, and mutual respect, and such gatherings help strengthen ties among different segments of society.
He expressed hope that the media and the government will continue to work together to promote development, prosperity, and public service in the state.
Participants at the Iftar dinner appreciated the event organized in honor of the journalist community and termed it a positive effort to strengthen relations between the government and the media. They also exchanged views on various national, regional, and journalistic matters.
