Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are “two bodies, one soul,” and that defending the Holy Masjids is a sacred duty for Pakistan.
He expressed these views during a meeting in Makkah with Sheikh Saad Al-Shasri, Advisor to King Salman bin Abdulaziz. Professor Sajad Qamar and Dr. Ehsan Sajid were also present on the occasion.
The federal minister emphasized that the people and government of Pakistan have always stood with Saudi Arabia. “Saudi Arabia has supported Pakistan in every difficulty and has never left us alone,” he said. He added that the Holy Masjids are the center of Pakistanis’ devotion, and sacrificing one’s life for their protection is considered a great honor.
He praised King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman for their historic service to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, noting that facilities are being enhanced every year. He further highlighted the importance of promoting the Arabic language, stating that Arabic is the language of the Qur’an and understanding it is essential for all Muslims.
Sheikh Saad Al-Shasri thanked the minister for his visit and reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia has stood with Pakistan from day one. “We pray for Pakistan’s security and development at all times,” he said.
He added that the strength and stability of Pakistan is linked to the strength of the Muslim Ummah. He also emphasized the importance of exchanging delegations of religious scholars between the two countries and expressed Saudi Arabia’s readiness to provide full support for promoting the Arabic language.
