Islamabad/Srinagar,(Parliament Times): Vice president Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of senior party leader and former general secretary Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari who passed away at his home town Shopian in South Kashmir.
In his condolence statement, Saghar said that the passing of Muhammad Abdullah Tari was a huge loss not only to his party but also to the freedom movement.
He was a genuine thinker, a seasoned politician, an acclaimed academic and religious scholar par excellence.
“While mourning the loss of a distinguished scholar and leader who dedicated his life to knowledge, social reform, and the cause of Kashmir, the DFP pays heartfelt tribute to his remarkable contributions and his steadfast role in the ongoing liberation struggle”, he said, adding that as a thinker, and preacher, he played a significant role in shaping the intellectual and moral outlook of the Kashmir’s younger generation through his writings, lectures, and guidance.
His demise, he said, marks an irreparable loss to the region’s political, religious and intellectual community. “While extending our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, we pray to Allah almighty for the elevation of his ranks”, the statement said.
Referring to his decades-long association with party president Shabir Ahmed Shah, Saghar said that Tari Sahib was among the party’s most trusted leaders who worked closely with Shah Sahib and served the party as its General Secretary.
Meanwhile, the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal on behalf of the incarcerated party president Shabir Ahmed Shah expressed deep sense of shock over the death of Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari.
Terming his death as an irreparable loss, he said that the deceased leader was a man of integrity and honesty.
The spokesman said that Moulana Tari had left behind a proud legacy that would continue to inspire Kashmir’s younger incoming generations.
“Maulana Tari will long be remembered in the annals of Kashmir’s history for his invaluable political, social, and religious services to the people of the region”, he added.
