Authorities have decided to launch ant-encroachment in all three districts of Mirpur Kotli and Bhimber to ensure complete removal of illegal encroachments besides to discourage such unlawful practice in the future, it was officially stated.
Decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held here Friday under the chairmanship of Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan.
The meeting issued directives to law enforcement statr functioneries for elimination of illegal encroachments in the division besides Mirpur district and the city. The meeting also inkex a security and traffic plan due to the ongoing rush in the markets in the second and last 10 days of the Holy month of Ramadan, the elimination of illegal large billboards on roads, electricity poles and buildings, the immediate elimination of sidewalks, carts and stalls on the roads, and the issuance of notices to those who do not comply with the parking regulations in plazas where parking is to be kept according to the maps and action against them.
The meeting was attended among others by Chairman District Council Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Raja Sadaqat Khan, Director State Development Agency Chaudhry Amjad Iqbal, SSP Khurram Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Mirpur Mian Hussam Sajid, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Raja Shiraz Khan, State Officer Municipal Corporation Basharat Hussain Chaudhry, In-charge Encroachment Department Mirpir Development Authority Raja Shahzad Ahmed Khan, Information Officer Muhammad Javed Malik and others.
The meeting categorically
decided the elimination of encroachments in Mirpur city. The administration, police, municipal corporation, development agency and district council were directed to take immediate action to eliminate illegal encroachments and implement the traffic plan. Immediate action should be taken against the violators.
The meeting also directed to take effective steps to eliminate encroachments and improve the traffic system in other areas of the district including Chowk Shaheed, Mian Muhammad Road, Stadium and Quaid-e-Azam Chowk, F-3 Old Chungi, Nangi Bazaar, Old Hattian and the Anti-Encroachment Committee to play its effective role in this regard. Parking of vehicles of shopkeepers and people coming for shopping should be implemented in big plazas on the main highways of Mirpur city which have parking in the basement so that traffic jams do not occur throughout the city due to chaotic traffic.
Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan while addressing the meeting advised all the concerned institutions to realize their responsibilities and resolve encroachments, traffic and civic issues on a daily basis. The Commissioner further advised law enforcement agencies to ensure maintaining law and order situation. security, traffic management, health and sanitation besides other civic issues during Eid-ul-Fitr shopping.
