Mirpur Divisional Police Chief Deputy Inspector General Dr. Khalid Mahmood Chohan has put the police on high alert in Mirpur division following the ongoing security situation in the country including, it was officially said .
Official sources told oir Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao here on Thursday that the srep was aimed at to ensure foolproof arrangements for security checking at all entry points and to practically check the steps taken by the police in all three districts of Mirpur Kotli and Bhimber.
The sources continued that the DIGP conducted surprise inspection of the entry points of Bhimber district and gave instructions to make the arrangements for checking at the check posts more effective. He also visited Jatlan, Ali Baig, Kadhala, Farrang and Barnala police stations. He broke his fast with the employees of Barnala and Moyal police stations.
On this occasion, he appreciated the professional duties of the police and said that the country was currently going through a critical situation. “In these circumstances, the enemy could enter the districts of Azad Jammu Kashmir in any form and carry out mischief”, he observed adding that in order to prevent any such subversive activity, the responsibilities of the state police force have already been increased, he added.
Dr Khalid Chohan said that the police will leave no stone unturned fir the safety of the lives, property and security of the masses . No one will be allowed to enter the district limits without thorough checking, he warned.
The DIG directed the district police heads -the SSPs of all the three districts in the Mirpur division to keep the security on high alert at entry and exit points and other places as well and police patrols should be increased, he advised. Those involved in unnecessary and suspicious activities should be brought to justice.
During the visit the DIG Police Dr. Khalid Mahmood Chohan was accompanied by SSP District Bhimber Raja Muhammad Akmal Khan, AC Barnala Dr. Rashid Khan, DSP Headquarters Bhimber Sheikh Abdul Rehman, DSP City Bhimber Rashid Habib, Ammar Dar Inspector / PSO SHO Barnala Tariq Sulehria and other officials of the district administration.
Meanwhile in view of the dilapidated condition of the building of the Barnala Police Station, the DIG Police directed the SSP District Bhimber to take immediate necessary steps regarding the construction of a new building of the Barnala Police Station, the sources said.
