Rawalpindi,(Parliament Times): The core committee of the Rawalpindi Restaurants, Caterers, Sweets and Bakers Association Pakistan held an important meeting and expressed serious concern over heavy notices issued by the Punjab Revenue Authority on the basis of sitting capacity.
The meeting was attended by President Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry, Chairman Mumtaz Ahmed, Patron-in-Chief Muhammad Naeem Chaudhry, Senior Vice Presidents Zahid Mahmood and Muhammad Imtiaz Chaudhry, and Press Secretary Tariq Khan.
Participants stated that the Punjab Revenue Authority had been informed several times that the notices worth millions of rupees issued on the basis of sitting capacity were not based on facts, and demanded that they be withdrawn immediately to avoid unnecessary difficulties for traders.The committee also urged all food business traders to ensure 100 percent sales tax collection from customers and deposit it into the national exchequer, stating that paying taxes is a national responsibility.
Association President Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry said the trader community has always cooperated with national institutions and will continue to do so, adding that the association will also promote the message of tax compliance among its members and the public.Later, the core committee members met Punjab Revenue Authority Rawalpindi Commissioner Khalid Yamin Satti and conveyed traders’ concerns. The delegation assured full tax compliance while requesting the authority to immediately address any injustice faced by association members.The commissioner was informed that members have been directed to collect and deposit 100 percent sales tax with the relevant department.
