State-of-the-art Mosque and a big hall were inaugurated here late Wednesday at the Public-Sector Mirpur University of Science & Technology’s Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences (FH&MS), it was officially said.
‘Dewan Begum Mosque’ and Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall, stand as an epochal & far-reaching initiative of extraordinary significance thereby not only elevating student welfare but also empowering nearly 900 female students through dedicated & dignified facilities while simultaneously cultivating holistic academic environment wherein intellectual pursuit, spiritual fulfillment & co-curricular excellence harmoniously converge in enduring unity”, the varsity ‘s authorotative sources told this Correspondent here on Thursday.
“The Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences of Mirpur University of Science & Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K inaugurated Dewan Begum Mosque and Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall. The project was first proposed by Dr. Mian Zeeshan Javaid, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy with support of Mr. Luqman Jarral, Inspector Inland Revenue, Inland Revenue Department, Mirpur. The construction was completed by Feroz Enterprises, Mirpur, maintaining high quality standards and timely completion. The generous donor Abdul Ghafoor Malik was specially thanked for his valuable contribution in establishing these important facilities”, the sources said while elaborating salient features of the grand Mosque.
The ceremony, presided over by Mr.Tahir Malik who appreciated the university’s efforts to improve student welfare and infrastructure. Appreciation shields were presented to Mr. Tahir Malik, Luqman Jarral and Engr. Muhammad Nauman Akram in recognition of their support and services for the successful completion of the project, the sources said.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony Dean Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Faisal Riaz, expressed sincere thanks to the donor, mediator and construction company. He said that the mosque was greatly needed, especially for nearly 900 female students of the Faculty of Health. He also shared that Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall will serve as a common room, providing female students with a comfortable space for academic and co-curricular activities.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalique, Deans, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Khuram Pervez Amber, Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Directors, Administrative Officers, Heads of Departments, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, Faculty Members showing the university’s strong commitment to student-focused development.
The inauguration of Dewan Begum Mosque and Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall is considrred to be another important step by the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences to improve facilities and provide a supportive environment for its students.
