Minister for Power Development Organization / Planning & Development, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, has said that comprehensive reforms in the energy sector and the provision of uninterrupted electricity across the state remain the government’s top priority. He emphasized that timely completion of ongoing development projects is essential to achieving this objective. He made it clear that quality, transparency, and efficiency are the three fundamental pillars of any successful project, and no compromise will be made on these principles.
He expressed these views while talking to Managing Director Power Development Organization Shafiq Usmani, Director Admin Muhammad Iqbal Khokhar, and other officials in his office chamber. During the meeting, PDO officers gave a comprehensive briefing on ongoing and proposed development projects, informing the Minister that work is progressing on multiple schemes. Several major projects are in their final stages of completion, while technical and administrative matters related to other schemes are being expedited to ensure targets are achieved within the stipulated timelines.
The Minister directed officials to establish clear timelines for each project, ensure proper division of responsibilities, and implement an effective monitoring mechanism. He stressed the need to strengthen field visits and site inspections to directly oversee the quality of work. He further instructed that progress reports of development projects be submitted regularly and that any obstacles or delays be immediately brought to the notice of higher authorities.
Highlighting the importance of transparent and prudent utilization of development funds, he stated that financial discipline guarantees the credibility of any public institution. There should be no room for wastage of resources, and quality control must be ensured in every project. He also directed the concerned officers to adopt modern technology and digital monitoring systems to further enhance performance.
The Minister added that a stable and efficient energy system is the backbone of the state’s socio-economic development. Reliable electricity supply directly benefits industrial activities, commercial operations, and domestic consumers; therefore, reforms in the power sector are a key component of the government’s broader development vision.
On the occasion, officials assured the Minister that all available resources would be utilized to ensure the timely and quality completion of ongoing projects. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening field monitoring and continuing to serve the public with dedication and professionalism.
